Preschool in (Balewadi, Mahalunge, NIBM, Salunke Vihar, Kondhwa) Pune and (Wakad, Ravet) PCMC: Playgroup, Nursery, Junior KG, Senior KG
Petals Kids is among the most trusted preschool networks across Pune and PCMC. We run structured preschool programmes for children aged 1.5 to 6 years at six branches: Wakad, Balewadi, Ravet, Mahalunge, NIBM, Salunke Vihar and Kondhwa. Our preschool follows a single Outcome-Based Activity Curriculum across all branches, so children move with the same routine and learning standards regardless of which centre they attend.
Petals Kids preschool offers four structured programmes across Pune and PCMC: Playgroup (1.5 to 2.5 years), Nursery (2.5 to 3.5 years), Junior KG (3.5 to 4.5 years) and Senior KG (4.5 to 6 years). The curriculum covers six learning domains through play-based, teacher-facilitated and child-initiated activities.
The National Education Policy 2020 mandates structured preschool education from age 3 and 87% of Pune parents now enrol children before age 4 according to a recent Pune Education Society survey. Petals Kids preschool prepares children for this earlier school start through six clearly defined learning domains rather than the old single-subject approach.

How We Teach: The Petals Kids Method
Our learning at Petals Kids is vivid, real, purposeful, enjoyable and challenging. Our effort is to develop independent learners. Each lesson plan is built around five verbs we want children to do every day: wonder, ask, explore, create and imagine. Around those verbs we use the following methods:
- Learning through play and interactive teaching methods that build a happy environment
- Project-based and practical learning that connects classroom ideas to real life
- Tailor-made programme adjusted to each child’s pace and learning style
- Learning beyond the classroom through co-curricular activities, festival projects and field visits
- Freedom for children to wonder, ask, explore, create and imagine in every session
- Interactive teaching tools including role plays, puppet shows, storytelling and digital presentations
Assessment Without Stress
Each learning area has clearly defined goals and every child is guided to achieve these goals by the end of the academic year. Our assessment is continuous and child-centric. Children are evaluated only after they successfully complete the required milestones in each subject. We do not rank or compare. We measure each child against their own progress and report meaningful growth to parents.
A Typical Day at Petals Kids Preschool
Daily routines are predictable because young children thrive on rhythm. A typical Junior KG day begins with circle time and a welcome song, moves to phonics and number work, breaks for a healthy snack, continues with creative work or thematic project play, then ends with a story and reflection. Music and movement, free play and rest breaks are woven through the day.
Working With Parents as Partners
At Petals Kids we regard the home and school partnership as essential to the education process. Parents receive a weekly snapshot of what was covered, photos of their child engaged in activities and a termly milestone report. Parent teacher meetings are held twice per term and centre heads are available for individual conversations whenever needed.
