Preschool Safety and Security in Pune and PCMC: Petals Kids Standards
Trust is built one safety detail at a time. At Petals Kids, safety and security are not separate operational layers added on top of the school. They are designed into the building, the schedule, the staff hiring and the daily routine.
Petals Kids safety and security covers CCTV monitoring across all common areas, verified pickup procedures with photo or biometric ID, trained first-aid certified staff, regular fire drills, hygiene protocols and visitor entry logs. The same protocols apply at every branch across Pune and PCMC.
Parent surveys across Indian preschool networks consistently rank safety and security among the top three admission decision factors, ahead of fees and curriculum. Petals Kids has built standardised safety protocols across all 6 preschools and 4 daycare centres, so the trust earned at one branch carries to every other Petals Kids location.
Six Pillars of Petals Kids Safety
Petals Kids → uses → CCTV monitoring in all common areas
Petals Kids pickup → requires → photo or biometric ID verification
Petals Kids staff → are trained in → first aid and emergency response
Petals Kids branches → conduct → regular fire and emergency drills
- CCTV Monitoring Across All Common Areas
Classrooms, play zones, corridors and entry points are covered by CCTV. Recording retention follows our internal data policy. The objective is twofold: keeping a record for incident review and giving caregivers the constant awareness that their work is observed.
- Verified Pickup Procedures
No child leaves the premises without verified pickup. Parents register one or two authorised pickup contacts at admission. Where the registered contact cannot collect, a one-time approval through a designated channel is required before the child is released. Photo or biometric verification is used depending on the branch.
- Trained First-Aid Certified Staff
At least one first-aid certified staff member is present during all operating hours at every branch. Common scenarios covered include minor injuries, allergic reactions, fever protocols and managing the time-window between an incident and parent arrival.
- Fire Drills and Emergency Response
Fire safety equipment is maintained at every branch and routine fire drills are conducted with both staff and children. Children practice calm assembly procedures so that in an actual emergency, the routine is familiar rather than terrifying.
- Hygiene Protocols
Hourly sanitisation of high-touch surfaces in feeding and play areas. Sterilised equipment for infant bottle feeds. Mandatory hand-wash routines for children before meals and after outdoor play. Visible illness leads to a contact-parent protocol rather than continued participation.
- Visitor Entry and Exit Logs
Every visitor is logged at entry and exit with purpose, time and contact details. Unannounced visitors are not granted classroom access. This applies equally to parents, vendors, repair staff and guests.
Caregiver Hiring and Training
Caregivers are screened on background, references and ongoing performance. Initial training covers child safety, age-appropriate engagement, basic first aid and emergency protocols. Ongoing training continues each term.
Communication With Parents
Daily parent communication logs cover meals, naps, activity and mood. Any incident, however minor, is communicated to parents the same day. Honest reporting builds long-term trust, and parents always have direct access to the branch coordinator.
